HI! I’M COREY
A Midwest US born and raised gal who has taken a life to the ocean for the past 7 years. After spontaneously enrolling in an open water scuba diving course and getting to swim alongside marine life for the first time, I was enamored. I decided to chase this newfound passion and let it take me to some extraordinary places on our planet including Greece, Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands, Mozambique, and Mexico. To sum it all up: I obtained a BSc in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University in 2017, have worked on various research & conservation projects, and work as a professional diving guide & underwater photographer. I am now based in Hawai’i working on my master’s degree at the Hawai’i Institute of Marine Biology researching my most favorite animal, the manta ray!
My mission is to use photography to spark curiosity in nature and empathy for mysterious creatures and to capture beautiful moments that will last a lifetime. Through imagery, I want to help reconnect people to ecosystems that we all depend on, yet most have forgotten. Thus, Corey Rae Photography was born. My photography work is an extension of myself; what I embody, how I view the world, portraying my own thoughts and feelings through an image. I value wild moments in wild places. It’s what has always pushed me, and it’s what I will never stop chasing. I am dedicated to do everything that I can to help safeguard them for as long as possible. Every single print purchased from my shop directly supports my work (:
